Recent Wedding

SEARLE—HANSEN A very pretty wedding of considerable district interest was solemnised on May 16 at tho Lutheran Church, Palmerston North, when Ellen, daughter of Air and Airs A. 0. Hansen, of Colvton, was married to Russel, son of Air AY. and the late Mrs Searle, of Hokiunga. Rev. A. Christensen was the officiating clergyman. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming wearing a frock of ivory phantom crepo cut on classical lines and slightly trained. Her beautiful embroidered veil was caught to her head with orange blossom. Slio carried a sheaf of white chrysanthemums and maiden-hair fern, and wore the bridegroom’s gift of a gold wristlet watch. Attending the bride wore Aliss Nancy Searle, sister of the bridegroom, chief bridesmaid, and Aliss Helga Hansen, sister of the bride. They were dressed alike in pale green windswept satin frocks, cut on slimming lines, with epaulette sleeves and daintily trimmed with lemon bows on tlie shoulders and plaited belts of lemon and green. They wore lace mittens to tone and green picture hats and necklots of crystal, the gifts of the bridegroom, and carried bouquets of lemon chrysanthemums and maiden-hair fein. Tho duties of best man and groomsman were carried out by Air Vic Hansen, brother of tho bride, and Mr Maurice Searle, brother of the bridegroom, respectively. A reception was held at. Messrs Collinson and Cunninghamc’s tearooms, where the usual toasts wero honoured and a number of telegrams, including a cablegram from the bride’s brother in Sydney, wero read. .Mrs Hansen received her guests wearing a gown of rrine matalasse, relieved with beige lace and hat to tone, and carried a posy of wine-coloured chrysanthemums and maiden-hair fern. Mrs AY. Searle wore a frock of green with yoke of face, end a brown hat, and carried a posy of autumn tinted flowers. Later, when the happy couple left for the south, where the honeymoon is to be spent, the bride wore a grey costume with hat and shoes to tone. Air and Airs Scvrle’s future homo will be in Hokiange.
