All Saints’ Children’s Home

HAPPY PARTY for inmates The children of All Saints’ Children’s Home -were entertained by members of the home committee at a jolly party in All Saints’ Church schoolroom on Friday afternoon. Games and items and a tap dance contributed by Miss Chrissio Field provided interest, the pianists being Miss Owtram and Mir-s Nancy Field. Afternoon tea, provided 'by the ladies, was enjoyed by tho children, and at its conclusion they gave cheers for the committee. Mrs L. A. Abraham, who has not seen the children for a period of six months owing to her illness, was present, and was greeted with rounds of applause from the .children. After she had said a few words to them, each child in turn shook hands with Mrs Abraham and then gave cheers for her. Members of tho committee who were present and assisted included Mrs A. E. Mansford (Mayoress), Canon and Mrs Woodward, Mesdames Blackmore, Phillips, Akers, Martin, Bagnall and Fieiu (secretary). Other guests at afternoon tea included Airs Bain,(matron of tho home) and her assistants, Miss Blake and Miss C. Campbell, Misses J. Woodward, Owtram, Akers, N. and C. Field and At. Petersen (Levin). Apologies for absence were received from Mrs T. E. Moore, Airs A. L. Robinson, Mrs A. Nicholls and Miss K. C. Owtram.
