Huge Volume of Idle Credits

Utilisation Would Help War Debts Settlement

APPRECIATION OF REALITIES BY U.S.

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 27.

"Nothing has happened to modify tho recent British attitude towards war debts,” says the Times in a leader. “President Roosevelt's acceptance of Britain’s token payment in June shows thorough appreciation of .realities. As there are worldwide signs of the depression lifting, Mr Roosevelt may yet bo able to utilise the huge volume of idle credits. If ho succeeds, tho negotiation of a final settlement of war debts will be enormously facilitated and, if effected, will greatly accelerate world recovery.”
