Caution Over Disarmament
LEAGUE DELEGATES FEELING THEIR WAT.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. GENEVA, Sept. 26.
Disarmament is the solo topic of discussion during the comings and goings between tho delegations, which are proceeding all day long. The outlook is apparently improving towards the Convention, though caution is still being exercised. The afternoon sitting of the Assembly was postponed, owing, it is believed, to fear that tho raising of tho Jewish question might result in the departure of the Germans.
Reconciling Franco-German Policies NO PROGRESS MADE SO FAR Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. GENEVA, Sept. 27. Thus far no progress has been made in reconciling Franco-German policies regarding: (1) Control of armaments and sanctions; (2) Franco-Italian views on sanctions; (3) Germany’s attitude to heavy armaments.
The Italian delegation, which hitherto has mediated between tho French and the Germans, is itself tho centre of opposition. There is much to he done before a clear-cut issue is established for October 16.
