Extension of Sydney Abattoir Dispute
MUTTON SLAUGHTERMEN STRIKE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Received Monday, 7.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Sept. 25. The Deputy-Registrar of the Federal Arbitration Court has convened a meeting of representatives of the employers and workers affected by tho fellmongery dispute. Another dispute has arisen at the abattoirs, where 400 men ceasod work as a protest against the re-allocation of space allotments by the superintendent, which meant the dismissal of five men as a result, while others struck. Only mutton slaughtermen arc affected and the trouble is not connected with the Dotany dispute.
Employees to Consider the ■ Position Received Monday, 11.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Sept, 25. At the compulsory conference of parties to tho fcllinongery dispute, union officials promised to place the case for a settlement beforo their members to-morrow.
The Registrar suggested that the strikers should return to work and their case for a recision of the 10 per cent, wages cut bo referred to the Arbitration Court.
