But Others lust Do Likewise

Tho Secretary of State (Mr. Cordell Hull) has re-enunciated the United States' arms policy as providing freedom from sanctions, but willingness to co-operate against arms treaty violators. The Secretary stated that the United States was standing fast upon her declared willingness to go as far as other States towards real disarmament, even to bringing armies down to the basis of domestic polico forces.
It was learned that the United States would not be averse to an extension of the supervisory powers of tho Permanent Disarmament Commission to keep a constant check upon now reductions when and if made.
Germany’s Claim to Armaments Equality DR, DOLLFUSS CONFERS WITH SIR JOHN SIMON Received Monday, 0.30 p.m. GENEVA, Sept. £5. The chief event on Sunday was Dr. Dollfuss' visit to Sir John Simon to discuss Germany's claim to equality of armaments. Afterwards Dr. Dollfuss said Austria ■would take a purely defensive attitude towards any German questions raised at the Assembly. He added: “We don’t intend to raise the question of the treatment of Jews."
