Famous Picture Stolen
Sixteen works by well-known painters, including four Corots, two Fragonards, three Renoirs and two Manets, ha,vc been stolen from (he "Villa Adriana in Cannes. The villa contains the valuable collection of M. Eugene Geoffrey, of l’lslc sur Soi-guc. M. Geoffrey had a collection of French masters quietly made over a long period of years, but little known, except to a small circle of friends and a.iew experts. His pictures were not The robbers must have been disturbed, for a valuable Tiepolo and a Corot were left untouched. The frames the thrown aside iu the drawing-room, and the thieves escaped by the library window.
