From Our Own Correspondent. The Longbum Miniature Rifle Club held its weekly shoot last Monday and the consistently good scores of the season were improved upon, the top eight men totalling 1100. Two men, W. Birch and T. Searancke, achieved the distinction of a doublo possible, while others to gain possibles were W. Grace, N. Woodill and A. Hearle. The following are the detailed scores:—W. Birch 70, 70—140; T. Searancke 70, 70—140; A. Hearle 69, 70— 139; W. Grace, 69, 70—139; N. Woodill 68, 70—138; M. Cooksley 68, 09—137; G. Hoffman 68, 65—136; H. Mabey 68, 67—135; H. Richardson 66, 65—134; T. Cooksley 66, 68—134; J, Aldersley 67, 66—133; A. Sanson 66, 66—132; R. Cooksley 64, 67—131; A. Reed 66, 64—130; C. Teague 67, 60— 127; A. Leitch 54, 59—113. The following will represent Rongburn in an Association match against Bunnythorpe on Friday night:—A team: W. Grace, W. Birch, T. Searancke, A. Hearle, C .Cooksley, ,M. Coksiey, N. Woodill, H. 'Mabey. B team: H. Richardson, G. Hoffman, H. Hayter, J. Aldersley, W. Francis, W. Cook. The Longburn Ladies’ Social Club held its fortnightly euchre and dance on Tuesday last. There was a good attendance of euchre players and the prizes went to Mrs. Larson and Mr. A. Reed, while the consolation prizes were won by Mrs. Mabey and Mr, T. Cooksley. Mrs. F. Lawrle, of Petone, is staying with Mrs. H. ,W. Bowler.
