PROTESTS ENTERED

Per Press Association

WELLINGTON, Last Night,

A resolution of protest in connection with the wheat pool regulations was carried after discussion at a meeting to-day of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerco. The resolution was as follows: “That this association strongly protests against (1) the compulsory provisions of the wheat regulations issued by order-in-council under the Board of j Trade Act, which deprives private enterprise of its rights and freedom in, commercial operations; (2) the manner in which the wheat pool was introduced, namely, by ordcr-in-council, instead of by tho decision of Parliament, whose busine'ss it is to deal with such matters; and (3) further against the employment of the Board of Trade Act which has been used to create a monopoly despite tho fact that the Act is designed to suppress monopolies; and further, that this association again urge's that the Board of Trade Act be stripped of its autocratic powers.”
