HUGE BURDEN OF SOCIAL SERVICES United Press Association—By Eloctric Telegraph —Copyright. Received Wednesday, 9.50 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 16. Mr. Drummond, Minister of Education, speaking in the Assembly, emphasised tho tremendous iflerease in tho cost of social services in New South Wales since 1928. The cost that year was £3,000,000, and the cost in 1931-32 was £9,000,000. He added that there were people whose mental outlook was that the State should support them while they gave nothing in return. Tho Government was determined, however, that this sort of thing must stop.
