College Street School Ladies’ Committee
Following the annual meeting of householders at College street" school last evening, tho ladies mot to elect their committee for the ensuing year. Mrs. A. Hopwood, the retiring chairwoman, opened the meeting but declined nomination for a further term, to the great regret of her fellow members. Before withdrawing from the meeting Airs. Hopwood assured, the ladies that she would continue to assist the school in any way possible, and wished the new committee every sue-
Eegrct was also expressed that Mrs. C. L. Turnbull could not see her way to continue as secretary, and eulogistic reference was made to her fine services over a number of years. The following committee was elected:—Mesdames Bowler Watson (chairwoman), W. M. Huntington (secretary), F. A. Wollerman, W. G. Miller, H. Ward, E. Edwards, J. H. Whyte, F. N. Andrews, V. L. Nicholson, D. Honore, J. A. .Smith, Pearson, McLeod, A. Boshicr, G. Watchorn, F. H. Tucker, A. Worboys, with power to add. It was agreed to meet the second Monday in May when the regular time of meeting will be decided. It is proposed to entertain Mrs. Hopwood and Mrs. Turnbull in recognition of their valuable services on the committee, the form of function to be decided at next meeting. At the request of the chairman (001. J. H. Whyte) the ladies agreed to expend 17s Sd voted hv the committee to the men’s committee, on roller towels, Mrs. Whyte being deputed to make the purchases.
