New Naval Commander Arrives

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A naval ceremony on tho occasion of the arrival of Commodore F. BurgcsWatson was observed on H.M.S. Diomede, Veronica and Laburnum to-day. Commodore Watson’s pennant was hoisted on the Vcronica this morning and the new Commodore visited tho Diomede, being received aboard by Rear-Admiral Blake. Commodore Watson inspected the division, afterwards returning to tho Veronica. Admiral Blake then held bis last parade of the division, afterwards being rowed ashore by the officers of the Diomede. At sunset the flag of Admiral Blake was struck, and to-morrow Commodore Watson will have his flag hoisted on the Diomede, and salutes will be fired in honour of the departure of Admiral Blake and the arrival of the new commodore.
