Baked Fears

Now that pea.rs are coming in they can. be used for delicious sweets. Have you tried baked pears? Peel, cut in halves and core some big pears. Place, them in a shallow, fire-proof dish with a few cloves, some grated lemon, rind and a spoonful or two of lemon juice, and sugar to taste. Stew very gently till tender. They can be eaten hot or cold, with cream or custard or by themselves.
