To Enhance the Lines Of the Chin and Throat
While facial contour depends to a great extent on massage, much can be done by exercise to preserve and enhance the graceful lines of chin and throat. The following threo exorcises should be performed in loose clothing in a well-ventilated room every morning and again immediately before retiring. From flvo to ten minutes should bo givcu to them each time.
Begin by cleansing tho neck and chin thoroughly with a good cleansing cream, using an upward movement toward the ears. After the cream has been put on in this way, wipe off the surplus with a pad of cotton wool and massage the neck upwards with tho backs of the hands. Then perform the following exercises:-
(1.) Breathe in deeply, bend tho head forward, letting it fall on the chest, and breathe out. Bclax tho muscles. While the head is down, breathe in, stiffen the muscles, slowly raise the head and let it drop backwards as fa.r as possible. Breathe out, bring the head hack to its natural position and repeat several times. (2) Make the neck muscles tense, breathe in deeply, bend the hoad sideways to the left and breathe out. Ee-ga-in first position, breathe in, bend tho head to the right as far as possible and breathe out. Bcpeat five times. (3) Breathe in, make' the neck muscles tense, turn the head looking up and over the right shoulder -move slowly and turn as far as tho muscles will stretch, breathe out. Eeturn to the natural position and repeat tho exercise, this time turning the head over the left shoulder. This last exercise is particularly good where tho neck is short and thick.
