General Following a recent decision to open tho Plunket rooms on Saturday afternoons and for one nurse to remain on duty for the convenience of country mothers, the secretary presented a return covering visits paid to the Toonrs over tho period from August 1 to November 30 last. During those -months 55 mothers and '54 babios had visited tho rooms, it being noted that these were mostly drawn from tho city area. Members considered that, as country mothers had not availed themselves of this convenience, it was not worth while keeping a nurse on duty for such a small amount of work. It was also pointed out that in a. case of urgency there was always a Plunket nurse on duty to bo notified by telephone. On tho motion of Mesdames Whyte and Murray it. was. unanimously resolved to clo-se the rooms on Saturday afternoons as from tho first Saturday in March. A circular letter from the Central Council concerning the nurses superannuation fund occasioned considerable discussion, tho general opinion being that further information should be sought, on the. matter. Tentativo arrangements woro made for the garden party to be held at the residence of Mrs. L. H. Collinson on March 19. Tho details will bo finalised at a further meeting on Monday afternoon, when it is hoped there will bo a full, attendance of members. Mrs. Collinson announced that Messrs. Collinson and Cunninghamo would allow tho committee tho use of their merry-go-round for the garden party, and tho offer was gratefully accepted.
