With tho Manawatu representative team engaged with Horowhenua at Levin on Saturday the junior teams are to hold pride of place at tho Showgrounds and with tho excellent pio gramme that has been allotted by the management committee,, Rugby followers arc being well catered for. lhe first game on the Oval at 1.30 p.m. will bo between the Manawatu and Rangitikei primary schools representatives. This game should provide the public with plenty of thrills as these boys give the brightest of Rugby ibat wo have had tho opportunity of witnessing. The game on tho Oval at 3 p.m. is between the two leading teams in the junior competition, Palmerston North Old Boys A and Woodville, and the result of* this game has an almost direct bearing on tho championship. There are three other junior games to be played, all of which will create the keenest interest to their followers.
FIFTH GivADE FINAL
GORDON TO MEET TECHNICAL
The outstanding game (Phoenix v. Gordon) in tho fifth grade competition was played on Thursday, Gordon winning by 21 points to nil. Tries were scored for the winners by McCorkindale (2), Bundle, Fraser and Farquhar, Fraser converting three, Gordon now meet Technical in tho play-off to-day.
