Capetown's Transport Dislocated by Strike
MEN ELUDE POLICE TO STOP BUSES. United Press Association.—By Electri® Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Tuesday, 1 a.m, CAPETOWN, April 6. A tram and bus strike dislocated traffic in Capetown during Easter. Tho tram company recently absorbed the opposition bus run to ffeapoint and appointed Mr Hughes, owner of the opposition, manager of tho Seapoint section. Tho men refused to join the tram union and struck at midnight. Police guarded the garages, but the strikers succeeded in getting through the skylight in the headquarters depot and removed all the essential parts as well as deflating all tho tyres. It was raining to-day and the fuil effect of the strike will not bo felt until the resumption of business to-morrow.
