Naval Pact in Danger

PRANCE AND ITALY DISAGREE AGAIN. United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Monday, 9.50 p.m. LONDON, April 6. The Morning Post’s Paris correspondent says the Franco-Italian naval accord is in serious danger over • the question of the replacement of obsolete ships which was purposely kept in tho background during Mr. Arthur Henderson’s (British Foreign Minister’s) negotiations with Italy, trusting, it would be regarded as a secondary point which could be settled during the drafting of tho text . Mr. Henderson thus secured Italy’s adherence to tho treaty though a discrepancy remained. It is now revealed that there are about 70,000 tons short of an agreement, this being roughly the amount of French replacements. Tho French delegates say their claim was communicated to Mr. Henderson and they believe the Italians had accepted, whereas the Italian drafters say they have just heard of the point for tho first time.
