Rebellion in German Fascists’ Ranks
HITLER DEFIED BY DISMISSED COMMANDER Received Sunday, 9.50 p.m. ' LONDON, April 4. The Times’ Berlin correspondent states that open rebellion has broken out with dramatic suddenness in the Nazi organisation following Hitler’s dismissal of Captain Stennes, commander of the North German detachment, on the ground of insubordination. Stennes’ storm detachments reported to number 500 have seized the Berlin headquarters.
Stennes has issued a statement accusing Hitler of treachery, and refusing to accept dismissal and condemning Hitler’s leadership. Tho Hitler loyalists have opened rival headquarters in Berlin. Hitler has ordered Dr. Goebels to cleanse the Berlin organisation the results of which are awaited with interest.
