First Air Mail to Australia

The first air mail between England and Australia, which started on Saturday carried a total of 50,000 letters, 35,000 being ordinary weekly mail for India and Central Africa and the remainder of 15,000 being first consignment for Australia, which is considered a splendid response from the public, showing national interest in the experiment.
