First Air Mail to Australia
BIG CARGO OF LETTERS. United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Sunday, 7.20 p.m., LONDON, April 5. The first air mail between England and Australia, which started on Saturday carried a total of 50,000 letters, 35,000 being ordinary weekly mail for India and Central Africa and the remainder of 15,000 being first consignment for Australia, which is considered a splendid response from the public, showing national interest in the experiment.
