Obituary
ME. r. G. WOOLLAMS. An old resident of Feilding, in the person of Mr Frederick George Woolk'.ins, passed away with, tragic suddenness at 1.30 o’clock yesterday afternoon. The late Mr Woollams had just concluded his lunch at the Piccadilly tearooms, whore ho usually took his midday meal, and was conversing with a friend on the footpath near Messrs W. Carthew and Sons premises in Manchester Square, when he collapsed without warning. Mr Allan Carthew came to his aid promptly, hut Mr Woollams, removed to his place oi business near-by, was beyond help. For the past twelve months or so, the late Mr Woollams who was about 65 years of age, had been in indifferent health, but his condition was not known to bo so precarious. He attended businos’s as usual yesterday morning and at lunch, was apparently in normal health for those with whom ho conversed saw no suspicion of serious ill-health. His sudden passing camo as a shock to the town which had known him for so long. For just on 4.0 years Mr Woollams had been in business as a chemist and his name was a household word in Feilding and district. Business and family occupations kept him to himself for ho never took part in public affairs. Ho leaves a widow, one son Erie, farming at Waituna and two daughters, Mesdamcs Harry Waymouth of Mangaweka and Gordon Bramwell, of FeiMiug.
