Women's Division Farmers' Union

FEILDING BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING. Mrs Colquhoua presided at the monthly meeting of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Attention was drawn to Book Day, to be held throughout the Dominion during September, when books will be collected by branches for distribution to the division’s lending library and to country dwellers and Flock House trainees. An appeal from the District nurse for infants’ clothing met with ready response and a sewing bee was arranged. The president, when speaking of social matters, mentioned the desire of the committee to celebrate the third anniversary of the branch. It had been held over in the autumn owing to so many other entertainments being on at the time. But now a special function could bo arranged, even though past the date. To arrange for the several activities sub-committees were set up as follows: The Book Circle: Mesdamcs Bcatsou 8 rid Williamson (Taonui) in charge. Sewing Circle: Mrs 0. Rewingtou Jones and Miss Boddy (Kopanc) in charge. Social functions: Mesdamcs If. E. Uocken and Mrs J. G. Cobbe in charge. The hon. secretary reported that two housekeepers were employed within the branch during July.
