Ormondville

From Our Own Correspondent. A meeting of tho vestry of the Ormondville parochial district was held to discuss means of renovating the vicarage, which is badly in need of repair. It was decided to apply to the diocesan fund for a loan, which was granted. Tenders wore called for the work and eight were received, the lowest being that of Messrs. Powell and Sons, Ormondville. The work is to be commenced immediately. A great improvement to the grounds has been effected by cutting back overgrown shrubs and cutting the trees at the back of the ■vicarage, so letting in light and air. The old stable has been turned into an up-to-date motor shed. Very welcome Tain fell on Monday night after a long spell of dry weather and will freshen up pasture and relieve the anxiety of housewives about water, as several tanks were reported to be either empty or very low.
