ANNUAL MEETING PLUNKET • SOCIETY. ' From Our Own Correspondent. There was a very largo attendance at the concert hall jon Tuesday afternoon on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Plunhet Society. His Worship the Mayor (Mr M. D. Smith) presided and associated with, him were Mrs W. Doh son, president of the Eannevirke branch and the hon. secretary, Mrs A. E. Hutchings. The report and balance sheet were taken as read and adopted. The nurse's report read as follows: The health of the mothers and babies st headquarters and our' out-station (Woodville) has, on'the whole, been very satisfactory. The attendance at rooms at headquarters ' has been very good and great appreciation has been shown of the help and advice given. One babe suffering from pyloric; stenosis was successfully treated medically at the Wanganui Karitane hospital. Premature twins have recently returned from there and so far are progressing satisfactorily as is also one babe in Truby King hospital, Wellington. There have been a few cases of measles - ('mild form), whooping cough, influenza and boils. In spite of tho long list of ailments all cases have responded to treatment. An endeavour has been made to visit Glengiirry, Te Rehunga, Tohoradte and Kaitoko’at least once a fortnight. I have to thank the committee for the consideration shown to me in connection with my work, also the mothers for the splendid' co-operation in the society’s work.

The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patroness, Mrs W. F. Knight; president, Mrs W. Dobson; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames R. S. Chadwick, J. A. Eiddell, G. J. Buchanan, J. Holden, E. A. Hansom, F. L. Selby, M. S. Thompson, Marcus Smith, Don Fraser and B. B. Vartan, the least two being newlyclected; committee, Mesdames Mai Speedy, Hendy, Efepagne, Watts, Macky, Nicholls, Carson, Hill, Bastings, Home (Woodville), Halpdn (Woodville), Denne, P. C. Smith, B. St. J. Pedlar and C. Small; advisory board, Messrs W. J. Woods, B. H. Fraser, V. F. B. Rogers, P. C. Smith, Bartlett, Marcus Smith and Drs. Williams, W, Beedie, J. Beediie, C. Maclaurin and M. Fugere; hon. secretary, ■ Mrs A. E. Hutchings; organising secretary, Mrs K. 0. Miller (both re-elected).
