FIRE IN CHINESE LAUNDRY
Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, LaSt Night. Early this afternoon, fire broke out; in a Chinese laundry in Highgato, Eoslyn, a few doors removed from • theRoslyn fire station. Tho laundryman, Shun Chang Leo. was using petrol in connection with hi< work when the spirit became ignited and ho was burned about tho faeo and hands. The brigade was summoned to deal with tho outbreak and the fire was extinguished before any groat damage had been done to tho building or contents. The injured Chinese received attention and was then taken to hospital but he is reported to be not seriously burned. TEN-ROOMED HOMESTEAD CAMBRIDGE, Last Night. At about 3 p.m. to-day, a 10-roomed wooden homestead owned and occupied by Mr. J. McCann and family of Maungatautau, about six miles from Cambridge, was totally destroyed by fire, together with tho entire contents. The occupants .were somo distance away from the house when the fire started. It apparently originated in the roof.
