PERMANENT BOARD TO SAFEGUARD INDUSTRY
MINISTERS SYMPATHETIC. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Tho establishment of n permanent board to deal with all applications for safeguarding industries was urged on the Minister of Customs (Hon. J. G. Cobbc) and tho Minister of Railways (Hon. W. B. Tavorner) to-day by a deputation representing manufacturing interests throughout tho Dominion. The suggestion was sympathetically received by both Ministers, who made it clear, however, that they desired a further opportunity for investigation before pledging tlicir support to the proposal.
