DAYLIGHT SAVING
FEILDING A. AND P. ASSN. AGREES TO HALF HOUR.
At its meeting on Friday evening, the Feiiding A. and P. association decided to support a remit which will cony; before the Royal Agricultural Society’s conference, opposing any extension of the half-hour daylight saving measure.
In discussing the matter, Mr. J. G. Eliott thought that the association’s delegate to the conference should be instructed how to act in the event of a motion being moved to abolish daylight saving. Ho moved that the delegate bo empowered to support such a motion. Mr. J.. Knight seconded.
Mr. E. E. Short said the half hour had been a satisfactory compromise and he would bo ugajnst opposing the rcintroduction of tho measure.
Mr. E. H. Lange said that his experience was that the arguments in favour of tho half hour were very much greater than those against it. He was satisfied that it did no harm and he would vote against tho motion. Iu reply, Mr. Eliott said his object iu moving was due to a conviction that an attempt -would be made to re-instatc the hour. The dairy farmers dicl not like any tinkering with the dock and neither did he. The motion was lost by 0 votes to -1.
