FURTHER ’QUAKES IN FEILDING
Sunday Morning Tremors
POST OFFICE CLOCK STOPPED
Four earth tremors were felt in Feiiding early yesterday morning, the first being of sufficient intensity to slop the Post Office clock and also the Exchange timepiece. The first ’quake came at two minules past three, at which moment the Post Office clock stopped, and cndifrcd for about two minutes. It was of the wavering type experienced on Monday lasi, causing doors and lights to -swing, buildings to creak and water 1u swish against the sides of the tanks. AVliile many slept through this tremor, quite a few were awakened by that earthquake feeling. • Shortly after four o’cluck, two minor tremors were experienced and again at ten minutes past G o’clock, a jerky ’quake of greater intensity awoke most people. This was of very short duration but its jolting nature made it generally felt. No damage was done and residents are accepting the tremors as a matter of course.
The first shock was registered in Nelson and Blenheim quite sharply.
