PAHIATUA EWE FAIR
W.F.C.A. REPORT. The W.F.C.A. reports on its Pahiatua supplementary ewe fair, held yesterday, as follows: — , Tho yarding came forward well up to advertised numbers. Buyers were present from Manawatu, Feilding, Dannevirke and Masterton districts. Bidding was spirited throughout, ani a total clearance was effected under the hammer at satisfactory prices. Mr. J. Breeds, who topped the market at our annual ewe fair with his five-year ewes, again topped the market at tho sale yesterday with his four-year ewes at 31s Ba.
We quote:—A/c. W. Mitchell, 158 2-th. ewes at 32s 7d; a/c. J. Breeds, 237 4-yr. ewes at 31s 8d; a/c. Saunders Estate, 338 4-yr. ewes at 28s 7d; a/e. Saunders Estate, 384 5-yr. ewes at 25s 2d; a/c. A. D. Eglinton, 64 4 and 5-yr. ewes 25s Id; a/c. T. Drinkwater, 89 4 and 5-yr. ewes at 255; a/c. Murphy Bros., 98 5-yr. ewes at 26s 8d; a/c. G. Edwards, 34 4 and 6-th. and 4-yr. ewes at 28s 3d; a/c. W. E. Barker, 32 m.a. ewes at 27s 4d; a/c. It| B. Robertson, 162 b.f. lambs at £1 Is, 161 b.f. lambs at 16s 4d; a/c. Saunders Estate, 208 medium shorn m.s. lambs, 12s. We quote: —22-th. wethers, 24s to 258; 2-th. ewes, 25s to 32s 7d: 4- owes, 245, 28s 7d to 31s 8d; 4 and 5- ewes, 245, 25s to 28s 3d; shorn b.f. lambs, 17-s 2d; woolly b.f. lambs, 16s 4d to 21s; shorn wether lambs, 17s; shorn m.s. lambs, 11s to 12s; Southdown rams, 2sgns., 34gns., 4gns. 5$ to 6gns,; cows and calves, £7 15s to £9.
