OBITUARY

MR JOHN BETT. . The passing of Mr John Bett, which occurred late last evening, removes from tho life of Palmerston North one of its best-known and most respected citizens! Tho late Mr Bett had been in failing health for the past six months,' ho gradually weakened, and his death was not unexpected. The deceased gentleman, who was 67 years of age, had been in business in the town for almost half a century, first as a coach-buildor and later as a motor garage proprietor. _ He is survived by his widow and three daughters, Mesdames J. A. Grant and Bert Jacobs, of Palmerston North, and Mrs D. Palmer, of Plymouth, England, to whom will go out the deepest sympathy of the town and district.
