The B grado second test was played in Cook’s Gardens to-night and resulted:— Ashburton £ls, 87 points 1 Hastings Citizens £7 10s, 85 points 2 Hawera Municipal £5, 84 points .. 3 Also competed: Taranaki Regimental 83, Feilding 80, New Plymouth Citizens 75. Aggregate winners of the B grane are:— Ashburton £6O, 171 points .... 1 Hawera £4O, 167 points .... 2 Hastings £2O, 166 points .... 3 Taranaki £lO, 162 points .... 4 The contest to-morrow will he under Vice-Rcgal patronage Governor-General and Lady Alice Fcrgusson attending to hear tho final of A grade bands. Mclntosh (Dannevirke) did not compete. As a result of playing an ineligible member in the quartet competition Woolston (winners) were disqualified and St. Hilda placed first and Timaru Municipal second. Tho points originally awarded were: Woolston 84, St. Hilda 83, Timaru 82, Palmerston North 81. Apparently Palmerston North will now take third place.
