Bunnythorpe.

At a, special meeting of the school committee, Mr. J. H. Dixon, who is leaving, Bunny thorpe, and has resigned from the committee, was made the recipient of a safety razor from fellow members as' a small token of appreciation of./his services on the committee. In'making the presentation, the Chairman, Mr. W. T. Maxwell, referred to Mr. Dixon’s 15 years of service on the committee, eight of which he had been chairman. They could not allow him to leave Bunriythorpe without some small reminder of his work among them. Other members also spoke highly of Mr. Dixon’s interest in the school. Mr. Webber, headmaster, spoke on behalf of the staff to whom Mr. Dixon had always shown the utmost consideration. Mr. Dixon in responding; thanked one and all for their gift and for the kindness shown to himself and family. He and Mrs. Dixon regretted , their departure from Bunnythorpo where they had so many good friends. The meeting concluded with the singing of “For he's a jolly good follow." i ’ At a Euchre evening at Hiwinui in aid of the school funds, there was a largo attendance, several visitors from Ashhurst being present... Mr. and Mrs. Duncan won the prizes for the evening, which concluded with an excellent supper provided by the ladies. Mr. and Mrs. Pinfold are leaving Bunnythorpe shortly to reside on Milson’s lino, Mr. Pinfold having taken a i lease;of Mr. P. Steven's property. The foftball and i hockey clubs are making ; great preparations , for their dance on Thursday.
