MUSIC TEACHERS’ REGISTRATION BILL AGAIN INTRODUCED

Notice of his intention again to introduce the Music Teachers’ Registration Bill was given by Sir John Luke (Wellington North) in the House of Representatives to-day. Tho measure which is on tho saint lines as the Bill placed before Parliament last session, seeks to establish • - music teachers’ registration board which would attend to tho registration of qualified persons. Those eligible for registration, it it suggested, are those who have engaged in New Zealand as music teachers for 12 months proceeding the commencement of the Act, or those possessing certificated evidence of haying passed a recognised examination, or those otherwise competent to tfeach music. In tho case of tho first-named application for registration would have to be made within 13 months after the commencement of tho Act. Provision is included in the Bill for cancellation, re-registration aha right of appeal. _ : The Bill also proposes that it be an offence punishable by a'fine of £2O for unregistered persons to cause persons' by written words, titles, or initial,' to believe that they aro registered. ! ; '
