EXHIBITORS NOT READY FOR SHOW OPENING
REPORT BY ME. M. A. ELIOTT. Mr. M. A. Eliott, in reporting to the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association yesterday, stated, inter alia: Evening Parking Not Succss. This year we tried an experiment of admitting cars during the evening, this has not proved a success, and hardly anyone took advantage of the privilege. I recommend that in future, evening admissions will not bo allowed. Some Suggestions. “I have several suggestions to make with the object of promoting smoother running of the show and preventing leakage. Firstly, all exhibits should bo in position and ready by noon on the first day of the show and no. exhibits should be allowed to be removed until 10 p.m. on tho last day. . . < ‘ Considerable annoyance and friction is caused to other exhibitors and stallholders, as well as the public, by those who. will not get ready in time. Materials and exhibits arc carted up the alleyways and the noise of hammering ancl disturbance is not fair to those who get ready. In Hamilton, I understand, two members of the committee go round arid pass all exhibits before the show opens. < ( On the ; last evening of tho show I had ra lot of trouble in preventing motor-lorry drivers talcing lorries up the alleyways to dismantle exhibits , while largo numbers of the public were about before the show closed.”
