BUSINESS OF MONTHLY MEETING. Tho monthly meeting of the' general committee of the Manawatu anil West Coast A. anil P. Association was held yesterday morning, the deputy presisident, Mr J. Linklutcr, M.P., presiding. The headmaster of To Auto College, j£r. Ernest Loten, wrote thanking the Association for tho splendid hospitality extended to tho College hoys during their visit to the recent National Dairy Show. , ■ —, Tho Now' Zealand Dairy iactory Managers’ Association; conveyed their thanks for the very fine way in which the Manawatu and West .Coast A. and P. Association had catered; for the entertainment of visiting members. The Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Association submitted the following resolution which tho Mapawatu Association decided to support: ' ' • “That the joint recommendations unanimously adopted by the representatives of both the primary and secondary industries at the recent Industrial Conference, be given effect to, and the Industrial Conciliation and Abitratiou Act be amended accordingly.’’ • Work For Schedule Committees.
Mr. W. Eunciman, of Matangi, submitted a number of suggestions for future'root classes, the letter being referred to the root schedule committee for consideration. Tbe N.Z. Ayrshire Cattle Breeders Association wrote asking the Manawatu Association to make it mandatory that all animals entered for compeittions, if over, 12 mb'nths of age, be registered, and that the words “ eligible for registration’’ be deleted from the schedules. ; The letter was referred to the cattle schedule committee.
The Ayrshire Cattle. Breeders’ Association advised that as it had been decided to hold the Eoyal Show- in conjunction with the Spring Show in November the championships for the North Island for Ayrsliires would be held at the Manawatu Association’s Show. Tho Association also submitted the following names for, tho office of judges —Messrs A. M. Weir (Southland), J. Parlane (Canterbury) and C. J. Cowan (Oamaru). .The letter was received. v \ Various Other Matters. ,
. Mr. Clutha N. McKenzie, dircctoV of the Jubilee' Institute of the Blind, wrote conveying the thanks of the trustees of the Institute’for the grant of an excellent stall, free of charge, thps enabling the Institute to rcduco their stock of accumulated goods very considerably. The sale of goods at tho Show had had a tremendous success, even greater than last year ,the total Sales being £155. Mr. M. A. Elliot was appointed chairman of gate stewards for the forthcoming Spring Show, while Mr. D. Buchanan was appointed stock’ reception steward. The N.Z. Hereford Cattle Breeders ’ Association wrote stating that the Association had donated a' gold medal to bo presented to the winner of the Levett Perpetual Cup, which would be competed for at the forthcoming Spring Show of the Manawatu and West Coast A .and P. Association. A vote of thanks was accorded the Hereford Association for their donation.
