FOXTON
PLtJNKET SOCIETY. MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Plunket Society Committee was held yesterday afternoon, those present being Mesdames F. Robinson (President), W. H. Walton, C. A. Pcrrson, W. Truman, D. Christie, R. D. Barron, R. Eangilicuea, F. Proctor, A. Stevenson and R. McMurray (hon. secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames A. Ross, J. R. Barr and A. Baker. Nurse’s Report. The nurse's monthly report showed visits to Foxton 4, to homos 12, adults to office 58, and children 85, a total of 143. There was one new case. Correspondence. Correspondence was received from the Palmerston North branch enclosing particulars in connection with the proposed Lady Truby King fellov/ship at the Otago ’Varsity Medical School. It was unanimously agreed to support the forward move in research work for the benefit of child welfare and to donate the sum of £5. The Rongotea branch wrote, conveying an invitation to a garden party held on December 1. The secretary reported that she had replied to the invitation, regretting that the date fixed coincided with the opening of the Foxton Town Hall, and wishing them all success.
The Central Council, Dunedin, wrote, advising that one case of emulsion had been forwarded to Foxton. It -was resolved that the next meeting bo held on the second in February. Accounts totalling £7 18s were passed for payment. Mesdames McMurray and Truman were appointed flower stewards, and Mesdames Barron and Truman visitors.
Proceeds of Mr. I. Corn’s weighingmachine were 8s sd, and those of the contribution box, 4s 4d. At the conclusion of the meeting, the President wished the members the compliments of the season, and a vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
