VISIT OF THE ORGANISING SECRETARY FROM WELLINGTON Mrs Porter has boon visiting the ’various local branches of the above society in Feilding and surrounding districts and addressed meetings at various places. At Colyton Mr \V. J. Smith presided over a good attendance. Mr Pearce, vice-president paid a high tribute to the work of tho Society. Mr W. J. Smith was re-elected president, Mrs. Hocken and Mr. Pearce vice-presi-dents, and Miss I. M. Pearce secretary, and the following collectors; —Misses Hocken. K. Ireland. M. Smith and Masters T_ Tregurtha and Howard Smith.
There was an excellent gathering at Kimbulton .although it was .Labour Day. Mrs. George Board’s resignation was received with regret, and Mrs Hodge was elected president, Mrs Mayo vice-president, Mrs Calder secretary, and the following collectors: —Mosdames Banks, Hodge. Gaidar and Miss Beard. A hearty vote oi appreciation was accorded Mrs. George. Beard for 3 years service as president.
At Apiti a most successful meeting was held. Miss Leslie’s resignation was accepted with regret ,and Airs N. Gill was elected president, Airs Alurray vice-president. and Alias M. Pratt secretary, with Misses F Malcolm. McKenzie. Correan and Bell as collectors.
At Holcombe Mr. and Airs. A. A. Marshall entertained all the members at their residence, "Alloy”. There was a very good attendance. Airs. Marshall gave a most encouraging account of the year's work, and the Rev T W. Marshall gave some most interesting information with regard to the Bible Home in London. Air. A. A. Marshall was re-elected president, Rev. T. W. Marshall vice-president, and Mrs A. A. Marshall secretary. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the host and hostess for their hospitality. which was greatly enjoyed by all. Mrs. Burrell presided over the meeting at Cheltenham. Airs. Potter expressed the hope that as many of the members of the various branches as possible would attend the annual meeting in St. Paul’s schoolroom on Monday night at S o’clock, when the Rev. Calder. N.Z. Secretary, would be the chief speaker .and would bo very pleased to meet as many of the supporters and workers as possible. The Ministers of the. town will also take part, and it is hoped there will be a record attendance.
