HEALTH OF MAORIS

MINISTER’S HELP PROMISED. [Per Press Association.] ROTORUA, Last Night. This afternoon, the Minister of Health (Hon. J. A. Young) arrived at Rotorua and met a full meeting of the newly-constituted Arawa Trust Board, which now embodies the Arawa Maori Council. The Minister was welcomed by Rauretl, the Hon. A. T. Ngata, and Tal Mitchell, who placed befort him several matters relative to the health proposals of the Board. The Minister replied sympathetically, undertaking to assist the Board to carry out a health survey of the Maori villages throughout the Arawa district. He welcomed the co-oper-ation of the Board in dealing with such problems as hospital and medical services for the Maori race.
