Leading Coalowners approve of the Marauess of Londonderry’s proposal that mineowners should personally consult the miners' and try to bridge the gap between the Mining Association and the Miners’ Federation before the subsidy ends. ! ... S; Some favour dissolving the Mining Association and allowing the employers to negotiate, local agreements. Sir Beddoe Rees, a director of Ashburnham Collieries, Ltd., suggests the formation of an unofficial committee of prominent men, representing both points of view, but entirely unconhect. ed with tho coal industry, Iwth a view to framing a new agreement.
