ODDFELLOWS’ MEETING
WICLLiINGTON NORTH DISTRICT. The annual meeting of th e Wellington North District Lodge was held at Taihape, D.D.Q.M. Bro. A. E. Mathieson, of Feilding, presiding. There were also present: Bros. L. Barkla and J. Fahey and D. P. Smillie (Palmerston North), L. Hill (Bulla), A. Donald (Levin), J. Johnston, H. Alexander, and A. R. Morgan (Taihape), E. B. Toomah (Wanganui), and E. M. Hurley (Mangaweka). The annual report and balancesheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted:Degree Master, Bro. Toomah; D. Degree Master,, Bro. Barkla; District Secreary, Bro. G. Pen-son; District Treasurer, Bro. J. Mansell; Trustees, Bros. G. H. Thomson, E.' M. Hurley, and L. Hill; auditors, Bros. Smillie and Fahey. Bro. Smillie gave an Interesting address, in the course of which he presented the following figures; The total world membership of the Order at the end of 19.33 was 2,600,909, consisting of 1,913,111 male members and 171,960 Rebekah members. The total relief paid out in 1923 was 1.561,782 and the invested funds amounted to £19,542,718.
