A number of houses fell to pieces in the encampment where refugees are sheltering on the outskirts of the city, and the Inmates were carried away by the swift current and drowned. Some girls were drowned in the middle of Athens. Numerous spectators were powerless to aid them. The damage is estimated at C 130.000.
