LONDON WOOL SALES.
Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., have received th e following cable from their London agents, - dated 7th July. 1925: —“The auctions opened here today with a large attendance of Home and Continental buyers. Good demand from France and Germany, Home trade operating sparingly. As compared with the closing rates of the last sales, we quote: Greasy Merino, best, id per lb. dearer; greasy Merino, average, no change; fine halfbreds, 50/56’s. id per lb dearer; halfbreds, 48/50’s, 3d per lb cheaper; fine crossbreds, 46/48’s 3d per lb cheaper; medium, 44/46’s, id per lb cheaper; coarse, 40/44’s, id per lb cheaper; low, 36/40’s, Jd per lb cheaper; Better demand for slipes.” The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited, has received the following cablegram from its London house under date July 7th: July wool sales: There was a full attendance at the opening of the sales to-day. Competition by French buyers being good, and prices as compared with the close of preceding series, ruled in seller’s favour for good greasy Merino; Inferior Merino, neglected: other Merino and fine crossbred, little change; medium and coarse crossbred, tendency of market easier; small demand for Home trade. The opening catalogues wore fairly representative.
