DAIRY EXPORT CONTROL. REPUTATION TO URGE WARD ELECTIONS. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Last Night. Claims for an amendment of the Dairy Produce Export Control Act in the direction of substituting the ward system of election for the present system was presented to the Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture today by a large deputation representing dairy producers in all parts of the Dominion. Mr. J. A. Nash introduced the deputation and said the producers felt they did not have the representation on 'the Board they were entitled to. Others also spoke, favouring the ward system. Mr. Nosworthy said he was quite of opinion some change would have to be made, but he was not inclined to say much on the subject just now, as the originally designed Bill provided for the college system of election, but the House of Representatives, or the of the committees, insisted upon an alteration; hence the present system. The alteration proposed by the deputation would have to be considered by the same House which passed the existing legislation and he doubted whether it would be worth while introducing an amendment. “You would have had a better system than you have now, if I had had my way before,” said Mr. Nosworthy. Mr. Coates said he would be pleased to have the matter considered in Cabinet.
