THE WEATHER
Present indications arc for strong westerly to southerly winds northward of New Plymouth and Castlepoint, and south-easterlies, strong to gale, elsewhere. Tho weather will be cold and unsettled, with rain generally and heavy rain, with the rivers rising about Cook Strait and in the northeast districts of the South Island. The barometer will be rising in the north and elsewhere soon.
