Their Excellencies (Sir dins, and Lady Eergnsson) propose to pay their first official visit to Auckland at Dio end of (he month. They expect to arrive there on December 30 and will remain for about a week.
Tile relatives of tho late Mr Peter Thompson, a member of the Pahiatua Bowling Club, wore accorded a vote of condolence by Die delegates to Dio Manawatn Bowling Centre at a meeting on Tuesday afternoon. Upon ilia arrival at Palmerston North yesterday. Dr. A. B. Eitt. Professor of Education, Auckland University, was welcomed at afternoon tea by members of the Old Boys’ Association of tho School. The doctor assured tho gathering - that the reception accorded him after 21 years’ of absence from the school, had stirred within him a feling of deep gratitude. It was a great privilege to renew acquaintance vyith some of his schoolmates. Dr. Fitt returned to Auckland late last evening.
