AFFECTING OROTJA COUNTY KI/FCTION. At yesterday's meeting of the Orou ; J County Council, the chairman (Mr. O.j Meilrov) referred to the recent peu-: tion of Mr. A. MacDomdd, of Raumai, regarding the election of Or. Vincent. It had been rumoured, said the chairman, that, the council was concerned in the engagement, of counsel on behalf of the county clerk, and he desired to give this an emphatic denial.. As a matter of fact. Mr. R. Harding the county cleric and returning officer, had approached the chairman, and I they in conjunction had endeavoured to get counsel for Mr. Harding to waive the technical point in order to; have the matter fully dealt with in court. After Mr. Harding had made a statement, the council went on to other business.
