PUBLIC OPINION.
THE BOROUGH WATER AGAIN. (To the Editor.) Sir, —Why on earth can't they leave that everlasting subject alone? These well-meaning folk forget that what they may miss on the swing they will get on the merry-go-round. Mind you, I don’t mean to say that the water is healthy to drink, or good for laundry purposes; but just think — how useful it is for dousing fires. Then, again, it is perfectly safe, if mixed with Jeye’s fluid, to water the streets with. When thick I use it as a fertiliser on the flower garden, and find it splendid. If discontented people would leave the water alone, and try to induce the Council to stop wasting tens of thousands on freak engineering and expensive toy machines, they may do some good. Why don’t these good people get Links and catch rain-water instead of always grouching.—l am, etc., EXPERT.
