"I would like to ask Dr Colquhoun," said the Hon. W. H. Triggs at the sitting- of the Hospital i Commission at Dunedin, "whether an active campaign of preventive medicines would not obviate the necessity of many people going into the hospitals for treatment?"

Electrical. —The Mayor (chairman), Crs Graham, Lancaster and Oram. Transit. —Crs Oram (chairman), Jackson and Canton.

Housing.—Crs Jackson (chairman), Needham and West. The Mayor Is ex officio a member of all committees.

At the conclusion of the meeting the Mayor entertained the councillors with light refreshment in his room.
