DISTRICT NURSING.
GUILD'S MONTHLY MEETING
Mr J. A. Nash presided over the monthly meeting of the District Nursing Guild held on Tuesday.—lt was decided to send a letter of thanks to Mr P. A. McHardy for his donation of £5 5/ to the Society's funds.—The secretary reported that Messrs Wool, lett and Cousins' revue company had forwarded £SO, being the proceeds of the recent performance. It was intended to divide the money equally between the Plunket and district nursing departments. Gratification was expressed at the generosity of the company, and it was decided to publicly thank the directors and members of the company.—Authority was granted the District Nurse to procure a fire extinguisher and hose for use in connection with her car. —In her report the District Nurse (Sister C. F. Maclean) stated that new cases notified during the month had numbered 29, there had been two deaths and five families had been assisted with clothing. Forty patients had been visited, 162 visits being paid, while the office patents had totalled 26. Mesdames A. Akers, J. Wallace, G. Bennett, and Mr McPherson had kindly donated clothing. An anonymous parcel of five flannel gowns, also four sacks of apples from 1 Mr W. Strang, had been received. Mr J. R. Wood's weighing machine had brought in £1 11/9. —Adopted.—The Plunket Nurse (Nurse M. E. Boshcr) reported that 134 adults and 135 babies had visited the office difring the month, and eight visits had been made in the town. Twenty homes had been visited and 12 new cases attended. All those who assisted in furnishing the office were gratefully thanked. — Adopted.
