HUNT CLUB.

THE ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Manawatu Hunt Club was held on Saturday, Mr S. R. Lancaster presiding. The attendance was large. The president's address reviewed the year's operations. Special thank». were given to the donators of trophies, Messrs G. Shannon, J. R. McDonald, E. Shortt, and the Licensed Victuallers' -Association. Thanks were also due to the Manawatu Racing Club for the use of its course for the steeplechase meeting. A totalisator permit for next meeting was advocated. For the next annual Hunt Club ball the A...and P. Hall had been secured. The owners of properties who had allowed tneir grounds to be hunted over were specially thanked. There were 320 names on the membership roll, but many were unfinancial. Officers were elected aa follows: Patron, Mr D. Buick, M.P.; president, Mr S. R. Lancaster; treasurer, Mr H. D. Buchanan; secretary, Mr W. McKenzie; auditor, Mr N. H. Sinclair; hon. vets., Messrs Rait and Denvers; master, Mr D. Bruce McEwen; committee, Messrs A. Parland P. Taylor L. H. Collinson, R. McKenzie. A large number of vicepresidents and deputy-masters were also appointed. The appointment of huntsman wai left to the committee.

It was reported that the pack comprised 17 hounds, fifteen being lit to hunt.

At a committee meeting subsequently it was decided to call for applications for huntsman.

It was decided to have the opening rnn at Fitzherberfc East on April 19.
